Hulme Street horticultural sessions 23rd June – Biodiversity and Wildlife, Wild Edibles, Espaliers, Compost & Wormery and Toolcare

Hulme Community Garden Centre presents

FREE horticultural sessions as part of the Hulme Street Project Hulme Street on Sunday 23rd June from 11am until 4pm

Biodiversity and Wildlife

Build a grand bug hotel with lots of recycled materials whilst talking about biodiversity, wildlife and the importance of providing habitats for bugs. Start at 11am.

Wild Edibles

A guided tour of the area in search for wild edible plants. Start at 11am, 1pm, 3pm. Be prompt for each sessions (but you can always tag along if you’re late).

Espaliers

Advice and demonstration on how to train espaliers and general pruning maintenance on a wide range of plants. Also will show you how to be creative with your pruning, making plant supports and fences. Start at 11am.

Compost and Wormery

How to make good compost, with no fuss, explaining layers, consistency and the bugs that inhabits the compost heap and exploring wormery and making worm cast. Start at 11am.

Tool care

How to dismantle a pair of secateur, clean it and built it back again, as well as loppers and general tool care and the dos and don’t of tool cleaning.
Start at 11am.

All welcome, young and old! Tools, gloves and refreshments provided.
