Green roofs are go!

The end blocks have had leaky flat roofs for years; the council and subsequently City South have patched them up repeatedly, but this has never been very successful!  CSM wanted to make use of the scaffolding whilst it was up to fix this problem properly and originally intended just to bung up pitched roofs.

Following lobbying of CSM by residents who researched thoroughly the different options, in terms of number of years guarantee and cost, CSM wrote to all residents offering little background information but a choice – flat or pitched.  The majority who wrote back said flat, and so flat green roofs are what we’re getting.

Green roofs have been going in all around Manchester in recent years, providing important habitats for birds and wildlife, as well as better insulating buildings.
